How to Plan the Perfect Date Night

This is an affiliated post. All opinions expressed are in agreement with my own.

Finding the time for you and your other half to plan a romantic date night when you have a family to care for can often seem like a near impossible task, especially with very young kids, but it doesn't have to be this way for much longer. Planning a date night can feel intimidating and exhausting, but read on for a few helpful tips!

Step 1. Get Child Care

Before you even consider what location you will visit or which activity you will pursue, you need to make sure that you can get child care so that your kids are safe and sound while you and your partner hit the town. You can hire a babysitter, ask a friend or family to pop round, or even organize a sleepover to get your kids out of the house. Once you have an evening that's free from the responsibilities of child care, you and your partner can start to plan your perfect date!

Step 2. Choose A Restaurant

A restaurant is always a great place to begin your date, as you can eat food you don’t have to cook before you head off to continue your date elsewhere. Instead, find somewhere like Barrio Queen Traditional Mexican Food that offers authentic dishes with a memorable atmosphere, as this way your date can be bowled over by your efforts rather than being totally disappointed. (My husband and I take turns choosing the restaurant each date with the agreement that we can’t complain when it’s not our turn to choose.)

Step 3. Identify A Fun Activity

Last but by no means least, you should always aim to identify a fun activity that you and your loved one can enjoy after your meal. There's a seemingly endless list of different options that you can choose between, from a couple's massage at a luxurious spa to a round of crazy golf! You can attend a music concert, sports game, or even head to the movie theatre to catch a show. There are so many different ideas that you can consider that are sure to put a huge smile on your other half’s face, so take the time to source the most suitable activity for your unique wants and needs.

All that being said, the most important thing is to spend time with your spouse/partner! Enjoy a board game at home if eating out isn’t in the budget this week. Go on a walk together and spend time talking.
