Experiment With Different Steaks
If you eat meat and fish, then experimenting with different steaks can be a brilliant way to increase your protein intake. A steak is a large cut of meat that generally comes from the leanest part of an animal or fish, helping to minimize the amount of fat that you consume. Whether you choose to sear a tuna steak to pair with a fresh salad for a light summer lunch or find a filet mignon recipe for the perfect dinner, you’ll be chowing down on a good source of protein! There are so many different types of steaks from pork to chicken too, so no matter what kind of flavors you prefer, you can find a tasty dish that you’ll look forward to eating.
Don’t Forget About Beans!
Though meat and fish may be great sources of protein, you mustn’t
forget about beans if you want to increase your daily intake of protein! Kidney
beans, black beans, pinto beans, cannellini beans, garbanzo beans and soybeans
are all excellent sources of protein, and they pack a punch of other essential
vitamins and minerals too! Beans should certainly be considered a superfood, as
they are great for your cholesterol and blood sugar while being rich in fiber
to help keep you regular. There are so many great recipes that you can pursue
to fill your plate to the brim with beans, including a hearty Mexican chilli, a
spicy curry or even a filling salad.
You can combine the best of both worlds (meat and beans) in soups like Chicken Taco Soup or Santa Fe Chili!
Adapt Your Breakfast
Far too many people make the mistake of eating exclusively
carbohydrates for breakfast such as a simple bowl of cereal, when in fact this
is the ideal opportunity to get your first load of protein in for the day! Adapting
your breakfast can be the perfect way
to increase your protein intake, and there are lots of creative dishes that you
can chow down on to start your morning off properly. For example, you might
like a bowl of Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and nuts, a slice of toast with
some scrambled eggs and baked beans or a seeded bagel with a smothering of
smashed avocado! My husband and I love protein shakes in the morning…they’re
simple, quick and convenient.
Increasing your protein intake has never been such a simple task when you can take the time to utilize some of the brilliant tips and recommendations that have been carefully detailed above! Start by experimenting with steaks, and make sure you don’t forget about beans. Adapt your breakfast to finish off your food transformation, and you’ll be reaping the rewards of a high protein diet in no time at all!
