We've been doing a lot of crafts recently since we're home so much. My girls frequently ask me for new crafts and one day they wanted to make butterflies. So, we present to you our Clothespin Butterfly Craft!
Supplies you will need to make your own: scissors, clothespins, pipe cleaners aka chenille stems, glitter, liquid school glue, pony beads
- Have your child spread some school glue on one side of the clothespin and sprinkle glitter on the glue.
- While that dries, have your child put beads on two pipe cleaners. You want to leave enough space on each end to twist it closed and to twist it in the middle (to make it look like an 8).
- Put both pipe cleaners in the cut out spaces of the clothespin (when you open the clothespin you can see some half circles cut out to fit over the clothesline).
- Cut a smaller pipe cleaner to about 6 inches. Fold it in half and curl each half to make the antennae. Put some glue on the antennae and glue it between the clothespin.
- Let the butterfly dry and enjoy!
Thank you One Little Project for the inspiration!
