Leprechaun Trap

My boys look forward to St Patricks Day every year and spend a lot of time plotting how they are going to catch the leprechauns. In all honesty, I dread this time! This is not my favorite project, but my boys LOVE it!

Last year, my younger son made this trap:

He made sure the leprechauns would be comfortable in their new abode. We made a bed, couch, swing, toilet, and treasure chest out of cardboard, popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners and felt.

We attached a gold medallion to the door so when the leprechaun tries to take it, he pulls the door shut on himself. The inside is decorated with stickers all over the place.

There are many days where I don't have the energy and tell my kids no, but I'm glad that I took the time to make this trap with my son. He was so excited and had so much fun with it!
