I don't think of myself as a health nut or anything, and we definitely have our fair share of junk food, but I try to offer healthy options to my boys/family. We have vegetables at dinner and fruit. I make most of our dinners from scratch with healthy "add-ins" much of the time. And, we spend a lot of time out doors. My boys know when I say it's a "no screen day" that there will be no tv, iPad, computer, etc and that they'd better find something else to do to keep entertained. If it's not muddy, they will often go outside for ages. These are just a few things that we do to try to stay "Heart Healthy."
Campbell's has a variety of American Heart Association Certified Recipes which can help any family get on the road to healthier living. Many of the recipes seem easy to make, and easy to use substitutes for if there's something you don't have on hand or that your family doesn't like. Here are some of the recipes I thought look tasty:
Creamy Chicken & Vegetables over Spaghetti Squash
Creamy Turkey & Vegetable Lasagna
Turkey Meatloaf
Pizza Primavera with Cauliflower Crust
Broccoli Cheddar Rice
