My boys are dying for school to start...they're still at an age where school is fun and exciting. So, to help keep mommy sane and prevent them constantly asking "how many days until school starts?" we made a countdown chain, thanks to The Suburban Mom. She has a template to use, or, you can just print off a school bus coloring page and use that for your template like I did.
Cut out the school bus, and some windows, wheels and a stop sign. Have your kids glue them on. Then, cut out strips of constrution paper (according to how many days left before school starts) and glue them into chain links. I stapled the chains to the bus wheels.
Then, hang it up and start counting down!
Happy crafting! :)

ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic idea! I love paper chains...we always do one at Christmas. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I don't have to worry about counting down to school until next year, but this would work for anything your kids look forward to (birthdays, vacations, holidays).
ReplyDeleteMy girls will love this ideas. They love cutting paper (still working on the skill). Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteToo CUTE! :) Heather
