Share Breakfast with Kellogg’s

Kelloggs Share Breakfast InfographicHave you ever gone without a meal because you couldn’t afford it? Growing up, money was always tight, and we certainly weren’t eating steak, but I always knew that there would be food on the table for my siblings and me. I did not have to grow up with the uncertainty of whether or not I would be able to eat that day, or what I would do on the weekends when I wasn’t being fed at school.

Today, 1 in every 5 children missed breakfast this morning. What a shame when there is so much wealth and abundance in our country. How can we let those children go hungry?! There are many kids who go home on the weekend and DO NOT eat again until they return to school on Monday because their families can’t afford food. Regardless of your political views or how you think these families should be helped, I think everyone can agree that children should not have to go hungry.

We all grew up hearing how essential breakfast is, especially for growing kids. I cannot function without food in the morning and I cannot imagine trying to go to school or doing homework, or focusing on anything else without having food in my stomach. It is so much harder to focus and perform necessary tasks on an empty stomach.

Kellogg’s is working to help provide breakfast to kids by teaming up with actor Taye Diggs, and their in-school breakfast partner Action for Healthy Kids.

Kellogg's Share Breakfast LogoWe can all work together through Kellogg’s “Share Breakfast” initiative to reach their goal of providing breakfast to one million kids through the course of the school year so that these kids can better reach their potential by having a great start to their day.

This is how YOU can help: go to the Share Breakfast website. At this website, there are several ways you can give…for each share, or tweet, Kellogg’s will donate a breakfast to a child in need! Share through Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, on on Youtube! It literally took me 2 minutes to share 4 different ways and provide 4 meals to kids in need.

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kellogg’s. I received a product sample as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

  1. We may not have had what we wanted, but thankfully we didn't go a day without food. I never knew that many were hungry.
