Moon Sand

If you aren’t on Pinterest, I highly recommend it. My favorite part of Pinterest is that I can pin activities to do with my boys and on a day we get bored, I just pull up one of the activities and off we go :). Seriously, it’s awesome!

One of our most recent activities discovered on Pinterest was moon sand. We went outside with a large casserole dish and started mixing away…I loved the texture and my 5 year old played in the moon sand for ages, just feeling it squish through his fingers…P1030866

All you need is 4 cups of sand (we had a bunch left over from our dinosaur fossils), 2 cups of corn starch and 1 cup of water. Mix it all together and let the discovery begin. I loved the texture…it feels like a liquid at first but if you let it sit it seems more solid. If it starts to dry out, just add a little bit more water.

What have you made with your kids recently?

I’m linking up to Money Saving Mom, DIY Project Parade, Motivate Me Monday, Made by You Monday, Market Yourself Monday, Making Monday Marvelous, CraftOManiac Monday, and Kids Get Crafty.

  6. It's so weird that you post about this Judy. I was going to make this for Little Bit. Unfortunatly, the temps were over 100 today so we stayed inside.

At the children's science museum the moon sand bin is his favorite place to be. He could stay there all day. Granted, most of the sand is on the floor when he is done but he has a good time!
