Father’s Day: Photo Transfer Popsicle Puzzle

If you’re in need of a last minute Father’s Day gift from your kids, you can always make Dad a photo transfer popsicle stick puzzle. Of course, you could make them a normal popsicle stick puzzle which will also look darling, but add the concept of photo transfer and you’ve got a cute, fun variation!

Not all printers will work for this, but we have a laser jet and it works just fine. If you don’t have a laser jet, a photo copier will work too. Print out a picture in the size you want it based on the popsicle sticks. I used 12 sticks and my picture was 4x6 inches.

Spread Mod Podge over the picture.

Lay the picture face down on the popsicle sticks and use your fingers to smooth over the pictures making sure there are no bubbles or huge globs of Mod Podge.

Let this dry for several hours!

Once it is dry, use an Xacto knife or something of the sort to gently cut the pieces apart between each popsicle stick.

One at a time, spray each stick and use your finger to gently rub the paper off. Spray more water as needed and keep rubbing until all of the paper fibers are gone. If you don’t get them all of you won’t be able to see the image properly. If the image starts rubbing off at all, set it down, let it dry again and come back to it.

Do this for all of the popsicle sticks and give each piece another coat of Mod Podge to seal it. Now you have an adorable puzzle for Dad to enjoy on his big day.

On the back of the puzzle, you can write or Mod Podge on a card, giving Dad two puzzles in one…this is also great for Grandpa’s which is where our puzzles are headed.
