Cereal Box Magazine Holder

DSCN5437
If you’ve signed up for free cooking magazines recently, you might have more magazines than you know exactly what to do with…or is that just me? This morning as I was pouring my cereal, I happened to glance on the inside of my Honey Comb box and noticed directions on the flap detailing how to make a recycle rack (which I have converted to a magazine holder).

    • To start with, cut off the top flaps.
    • On the side panel measure 4 inches up from the bottom and draw a straight line across.
    • Draw a diagonal line from the 4 inch line on the side to the opposite top corner on the front and back of the box.
    • Cut out along those lines and voila! Instant, cheap magazine/junk mail/recycling box :). Thanks Honey Comb!
PS I recommend the bigger cereal boxes like Cheerios if you want to hold magazines like Rachael Ray or Martha Stewart.

I’m linking up to Market Yourself Monday, Homemaker Monday, Don’t Waste Your Homemaking, Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays, Tip Me Tuesday, and Amaze Me August.

    4. I tried this once and it kept toppling over. Is there a way to make it more sturdy?

    5. @Everyday Mom Ideas, I think if the box is full enough, and if it's a wider cereal box like Cheerios, that it should stay up. I had no problem getting my box to stay up, but had it as full as it would let me :)
