Magazine Christmas Tree

Handmade decorations for the holiday are so fun because they are unique every year and you don’t have to store them!

A magazine tree, or two or three, will be the perfect center piece for your holiday table!
All you really need is a magazine. It has to be thick like a Martha Stewart magazine. You can also add paint or a marker and glitter with Mod Podge. I found this on Make the Best Of What’s Around, who saw this on the Martha Stewart Show.
First, start by folding the top outside corner of the cover page to the spine so the folded part forms a triangle. Get comfortable, this will take a little while :)
Now, grab the outside corner of the triangle you just created and fold that to the spine, as seen below.
On the bottom of the page there will be a triangle sticking out. Fold that up and inside the page you just folded.
Now keep folding…
and folding…
and folding…
Until all the pages of your magazine are folded. It should be full enough to fill out the shape of a tree, and if desired you can paper clip the two cover pages together to encourage fullness of your tree. Or, that side can be the back.
You can leave it like this, or you can paint or color the tree. I just took a green marker along the edge of each page for some color.
I then Mod Podged the edge of each page and sprinkled glitter on it for some flare.
Set on your table with other fun decorations and enjoy your Christmas day feast :).
It’s a simple and fun way to recycle and decorate.
