We have fallen in love with foaming hand soap. It's so much easier for K to use and rinse off! It's more exciting too because of all the bubbles.
What do I love more than foaming hand soap? Well, a lot of things, but I love to save money. That’s why I decided to try making my own foaming hand soap, just like The Common Cents Home did.
It is so easy that my husband and I both felt ripped off for ever paying for foaming hand soap!
All you need is an empty foaming soap dispenser…we bought a full one at WalMart, and any regular liquid hand soap refill. Fill the bottle 3/4s of the way to the fill line with water, and fill the last 1/4 with normal hand soap (Dove, Dial, etc). You can add marbles in the bottom to look pretty, but I just shook mine. It hasn’t separated at all and works just as well as store bought foaming hand soap.
Wow!! How cool is that!! Yes, I'm kinda feeling ripped off myself! Will be giving this a try!
ReplyDeleteI did this a few months ago (no marbles) just because the label specifically said: "Do NOT add water to bottle to refill" and I thought, "oh YEAH, well I'm DOING it!" and it worked! Cute blog! Ann at http://housefinally.blogspot.com/2010/
ReplyDeleteI just did this and it seems to be working well. My 2 girls do better with foam soap than the other. Much less scrubbing off of the vanity for me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

I am also having a link party of my own...my very first one...come join me!

ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for sharing. I will have to do this.
ReplyDeleteI wondered if this would work; thanks for pointing the way!
ReplyDeleteI'm so doing this. There is always extra soap on the counter and mirror. Who knew it would be so easy?
