We went to the library this week, and while K is playing happily with the blocks, he looks over at a table and notices 4 Bob the Builder Books strewn across that table. He dropped everything he was holding, grabbed the books and begged me to read them right then and there. I was ecstatic! He dropped toys to read…in the library. We looked like one of those smart, studious mommy/kid pairs while all the other kids (including C) ran around like wild bandicoots :).
This was a perfect reminder to me that I cannot choose for my children what they will be passionate about. I try to avoid books based off of shows or movies because I get enough of those on the television, but K saw something he liked, and has since carried those books with him, begging me to read them constantly.
I am fairly surprised with how tolerable these books are. I find myself reading in the same speech patterns the characters have on the show, but K loves it, and I enjoy that time with him.
Some of the books he got were “Muck’s Sleepover,” “Roley and the Rock Star” and “Best in Show!”
We love Bob the Builder. We haven't read any of the books yet. I have seen them, but now we will have to try them out. Thanks for the recommendation and linking up.
