Are you making deviled eggs this weekend? Stop right there and check this out! These stained glass eggs are so easy and make deviled eggs look amazing!
After you boil the eggs lightly crack the entire surface, as much or as little as you want. Do not peel or crack too hard!
Put the cracked eggs into a cup/container of colored water and let them soak up that color in the refrigerator overnight. Use normal food coloring, not the egg dying kits because the color will seep through onto the egg.Peel the eggs as normal and make your favorite deviled egg recipe. Yummy and beautiful!
My favorite sneaky trick to no mess deviled eggs is putting the yolks and other ingredients into a baggie, mushing it all together and cutting a small hole in the corner of the baggie. Pipe the yolk mixture into the egg whites and throw that bag away!
Those look awesome....we love deviled eggs at my house.

Thanks for following me, I am now following your neat blog!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Easter weekend,

Very cool idea. The only thing that would make these cooler is bacon. Crush up some well done bacon (or get bacon bits if you're lazy) and sprinkle that on top to add a little crunch. I'm a bit obsessive about my deviled eggs. Like this guy: Seth is obsessed with deviled eggs

ReplyDeleteI think you and my husband would get along. He tried them and said they didn't have enough flavor! To him, meat can make anything better, and the more the better!
Stopping by from FF & now following you!!

ReplyDeleteI am doing this very project with my boys tomorrow! Come visit me sometime at cannaryfamily.blogspot.com (:
ReplyDeleteI did this for Easter this year...actually got done with them!! They look really cool!!! They are easy to do (because most of the work is done by the water they are in), but they are time consuming. Well, worth the effort....but, I definitely will only do them on special occasions!! :D)
