Oh goody! It's my first giveaway! I'm so excited!
I am giving away a $10 Target.com giftcard (it cannot be used in store, lest I get accused of being misleading somehow).
To enter, you must do the following:
Follow my blog publicly. Once you have done that, leave me a comment saying you have done so, as well as a favorite activity you do with your kids or that you loved as a kid. I am always looking for fun things to do with my boys and would love to hear what others are doing. If your e-mail is not accessible from your profile, please include that as well.

I'm a new follower. We used to take family bike rides as a kid. I remember Mom in front leading the pack, until we got older and raced ahead. Dad would stay toward the back and help take care of the dogs that would chase us.

ReplyDeleteI have six kids so our favorite thing to do is different with the age levels.
My oldest son (15) and daughter (10) like to do bug collecting. Mainly beetles. They love it.
My 12 year old is a brainiac, so conversation and debate. Mostly about how he is going to run a business. He can talk about it all day. He seems to enjoy the fact that I listen.
My 7, 3, and 1 year old love to go to the park. Out door activities like soccer and kiting, they love it.
The one thing we do as a family that everyone seems to enjoy is fishing.

I'd love Target. Hope I win!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I made cheaper versions of the soap box derby cars.
-2 skateboards
-wooden box crate
Lie skateboards next to each other and attach a particle board piece(or whatever you have) on bottom of skateboards in middle and attach using drill, nail, bolts. This way the skateboards are secured together. Then drill and bolt the wooden box crate on top of both skateboards securely. Then get in and go down a hill and steer by placing one hand on either side of box crate and leaving slightly to left or right. Or have a friend push you down a straight street. Or have a soap box derby race with friends. You can get creative and paint the box crate or add embellishments and add the name of your soap box car. So much fun when I was a kid. All the neighborhood kids made one as well as my siblings. Hope this gives you another idea of what to do with your kids. Just be creative. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteOne thing we always love doing is taking 'adventure walks'. It can be as simple as a walk around the block but the key is to find something unusual. Sometimes it would be a new bug, or a pretty flower or a new dog barking. Simple but really fun, and great if you have woods nearby.
i follow with google.
ReplyDeletei love playing with bubbles with my little guy
